For full-time students especially, the LL.M. year provides a golden resume building opportunity.
Obviously, just having the LL.M. on your resume is a big boost. But don't let it end there! Take advantage of opportunities to join student groups, attend (or help organize) events and conferences, and participate in clinics and externships. In addition to the endless opportunities you will find within the law school, the bar associations offer inexpensive membership for students and tons more opportunities to get involved in the area of law you are pursuing.
It's easy to put off these things until next week or next month, but the weeks add up quickly and the year will be over before you know it. Use this time wisely and jump in with both feet. Your resume with thank you!
